HTC is aiming for a smartphone market dominance with their flagship HTC  U12+. The phone has already been trending with its leaked specs in the tech world. The phone is expected to make its release on May 23 and a rumored release in the same month in Indian market. The phone is talk to have a price tag of ₹ 48,990 for its 64 GB version. Within the limited information's the phone will have 4 color variants, namely Black, White, Gold and Grey. The following part will specify its features from the leaked information's.

The phone's 8.7mm rumored thickness gives an unfair impression to the user. 188g weight is also a little weaker in the specs. The back part of the device is built with glass and aluminium frame. U12+ will feature a IP68 certified dust and waterproof body. Pressure sensitive buttons will also be a characteristic of the device.

6 inch display will feature Super LCD6 capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors and having a 80.3% screen-to-body ratio. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 will give protection for the display and is HTC Sense UI- DCI-P3 & HDR10 compliant.

HTC U12+ is having the latest Android 8.0 (Oreo) and is rumored to upgraded for the next version.  Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset is capable of Octa-core (4x2.6 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver). Adreno 630 Graphics Processing Unit will give the greatest output to the end user. It also comes with 6 GB RAM for fastest processing.

The phone comes with 2 memory variants, A 64 GB variant and 128 GB variant. The 400 GB external storage looks decent.

HTC U12+ comes with Li-Ion 3500 mAh battery and it is non removable. The battery criteria again dominates with quick charging feature upto 50% in 35 min. The wireless charging characteristic is another edge.

The camera looks excellent with 12 MP (f/1.8, 1.4µm, Dual Pixel PDAF) + 16 MP (f/2.6, 1.0µm) dual primary camera. The flash is gossiped as a dual-LED dual-tone flash. Geo tagging feature makes the camera side more glamorous. The phone is having [email protected], [email protected]/60/240fps, HDR, 24-bit/192kHz stereo sound recording features. 8 MP (f/2.0, 1.12µm) secondary camera is capable of shooting videos at 1080p.

The device gives standard Wi-fi and other connectivity features. It is having the latest Bluetooth5.0.  USB3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector are other connecting options. The rear mounted finger print sensor comes with all the basic sensors.

Verdict

It will be earlier to predict the exact feature of the device. But with given specs, the phone looks a little costlier compared to the features. It takes advantage in the camera and performance side. But with overall review it is an average phone for the budget.
