BRAZIL

As the Football World Cups became one of the most entertaining events, FIFA decided to appreciate the most entertaining team in the tournament. The first award was given in the 1994 USA World Cup and later given in all the events. 

Brazil was the  first winner of the Award. The team was one of the most entertaining team due to star studded players and glamorous plays. Except in the Finals, Brazil blasted at least one goal against their opponents. They started their tournament in a grand style defeating Russia in a 2-0 difference. In the next match, Brazil once again dominated over puny Cameron and ended their group stage with a 1-1 draw against Sweden. In the round of 16, Brazil faced the hosts, USA and later in the quarter finals Brazil thrashed Netherlands in a 3-2 goal difference. The team once against faced Sweden in the semi finals and defeated with the aid of Romario's 80th minute goal. Brazil faced a tough bout in the Finals against Italy and won the match in a Penalty Shootouts.

FRANCE

France had to make something brilliant in front of their fans in the 1998 World Cup. Aiming for their first World Cup reign, France showed a complete dominance in the group stage defeating South Africa with a 3-0 goal difference and Saudi Arabia at a 4-0 goal difference. The last match in the group round was between Denmark and showcased a 2-1 performance.  In a close encounter against Paraguay in the round of 16, France succeeded in a 1-0 goal difference.  In the quarter's France faced Italy and the match was ended up in a tie and moved to penalty shootouts. In a nail biting bout, France were victorious with a 4-3 goal difference. France faced the dark horses of the tournament, Croatia in the semi finals and succeeded the match with 2-1 score card. In the Finals, France had to face the well built Brazilian team. But for the Les, the competition wasn't a tougher one shook the net 3 times and won their first title.

SOUTH KOREA

South Korea made their dream run of the FIFA World Cup in the 2002 edition. In the tournament, South Korea reached semi finals and was one of the best performances from the squad. Surpassing the group stage seemed to be tough task for the co-hosts, as Poland, Portugal was the group favorites. But South Korea made the impossible thrashing Poland and Portugal in a clear dominance.  Football world was shocked after USA and South Korea succeeded from Group D. Gaining from the confidence, South Korea faced Italy in the round of 16. But it was a tough bout for the team and had to wait till extra time to ensure the victory. Korea faced Spain in the quarter finals and the match was resulted in a tie and went to penalty shootouts. In a controversial match, the penalty shootout was favored the co-hosts. South Korea ended their World Cup journey in the semi finals, facing a 1-0 loss against Germany.

PORTUGAL

Portugal has been tremendous in the 2006 World Cup. Although failed to reach the top two position, Portugal showed real entertainment. It was also the debut World Cup of Cristiano Ronaldo. Being placed in the Group D, Portugal showed a clear dominance in the Group stage, defeating all the opponents with a clear supremacy. In the round of 16, Portugal faced Netherlands and qualified to the next round with a 1-0 score card. In the quarter finals, England was seemed to aiming for path block for Portugal's journey. But Portugal defeated the team in the penalty shoot outs. But in the semi finals, France showcased a clear dominance against the Portuguese squad and won the match by 1-0. 

GERMANY

In the South African World Cup, Germany was seemed to be one of the best team with star studded players in the squad. Germany began the tournament with a 4-0 dominance over Australia but faced an unexpected defeat from the weak Serbian team. But, the squad filled with Klose, Muller had come back strongly in their next match against Ghana, finished the group stage as the table toppers. In the round of 16, Germany showcased a 4-1 dominance over the England and made their entry to the quarter finals. In the quarters, Argentina seemed to be a tough challenge for the Germany squad. But Klose's 2 goal performance along with Muller and Friedrich's 1 goal performance led the team to semi finals with a 4-0 score card. But in the semi's Germany lost to Spain with a 1-0 margin. Muller and Klose was the 2 key players for the side scoring 5 and 4 goals respectively.

COLOMBIA

After the 1998 World Cup appearance, Colombia made their golden journey in the 2014 edition. The team qualified for the round of 16 as the table toppers and faced Uruguay in the round of 16. James Rodriguez scored two goals against the opponents and made their first entry to the quarter finals. In their match against Brazil, Colombia seemed to give a tough dispute for the Brazil but ended their journey at 2-1 score card. But the teams performance was well appreciated by the football fans.
