1. Shahid Afridi

Shahid Afridi

Afridi has been one of the dominant players in the Pakistan middle order. Out of his 398 ODI outings, the right hander smashed 351 sixes. Afridi taught the youngsters, that how to smash biggies in a short time after making into the crease. As a middle order batsmen and aggressive player, Afridi had records in aggressive batting department rather than being a high scorer. Nick named, Boom Boom, Afridi scored  8064 runs in his ODI career with an average of 23.57 and a strike rate of 117.

2. Sanath Jayasurya

Former Sri Lankan opener, Sanath Jayasurya blasted 270 sixes in his ODI career. Being an aggressive opener, Jayasurya added some quick innings's for the Sri Lankan team. Unlike Shahid Afridi, Jayasurya was good in adding runs. From his  455 matches, Jayasurya scored 13430 runs with an average of 32.36. He maintained his strike rate above 90 in throughout his ODI career.  Along with the mentioned sixes, the left hander blasted 1500 fours. 

3. Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle, the West Indies opener placed third in the list with 267 sixes in ODIs. Nick named Master Storm, Gayle was one of the most aggressive players in the sports of cricket and was known for his entertaining batting's.  Till now, the left hander scored 9585 runs from his 281 outings. He is having an average of 37 in his ODI career along with a strike rate of 85.81. The "Master Storm" blasted 1063 fours till now in ODIs. 

4. MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni

Former Indian captain, MS Dhoni blasted 217 maximum's in his ODI career till now. In his beginning of the career, Dhoni was placed in the top order for his amazing consistency and strike rate. But later he moved to the middle order due to his six hitting abilities. Power was his core strength and guiding the ball over the boundary line was an effortless task for the batsmen. Out of his 318 ODI outings, Dhoni scored 9967 runs at an average of 51.37 with a strike of 88.40.

5. AB de Villiers

AB de Villiers

South African batsmen, AB de Villiers has smashed 204 sixes in his ODI career and was one of the most consistent player for the side. The right hander is having the highest strike rate in this list of 53.90.  The top order batsmen scored 9577 runs from his 228 outings. Along with these stats, De Villiers shares the record of most sixes in an innings with Rohit Sharma and Chris Gayle of 16 sixes. Although had good career stats, ABD made an unexpected retirement announcement in 2018.

6. Brendon McCullum

Brendon McCullum

Former New Zealand skipper, Brendon McCullum blasted 200 sixes in his ODI career. He was the key player in the New Zealand batting department. McCullum was an unorthodox batsmen, hitting runs with different batting positions was alluring. Before retiring from the International cricket in 2016, Brendon McCullum scored 6083 runs from 260 matches. 96.37 was his career strike rate along with an average of 30.41.

7. Sachin Tendulkar

From his 23 year ODI career, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar smashed 195 sixes. Sachin was not an aggressive player of the side. But his presence in the top order was a confidence for the predecessors. Rather than a big hitter, Sachin preferred to find the gap between fielders to hit boundaries. In his 463 ODI outings, Tendulkar scored 18426 runs at an average of 44.83. His strike rate in the format was 86.23. 

8. Sourav Ganguly

Nicknamed "Dada", former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly blasted 190 sixes in his ODI career. The left hand batsmen batted in the opening position during his early ODI career and later he impeded from the position. He used to hit fours against pacers and to blast biggies to the spinners. From of his 16 years ODI career Ganguly scored 11300 runs at an average of 41.02. Along with 190 sixes, Sourav Ganguly pondered 1122 fours. 

9. Rohit Sharma

Out of his 180 ODI outings, Indian opener Rohit Sharma scored 6659 runs and blasted 169 sixes. Nick named "Hit Man" Rohit is having the record of most number of double centuries in ODIs of 3. In these 3 occasions, the right hander blasted a total of  37 sixes. Striking new ball was his core skill and for that talent he was promoted to the opening line up after the retirement of Virendar Sehwag. Rohit is having a strike rate of 86.96 in ODIs with an average of 44.55. 

10. Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan

England T20I captain, Eoin Morgan placed 10 in the list smashing 163 sixes in ODIs. He recently promoted to the list beating the record of Australian skipper Ricky Ponting's 162 sixes. The English top order batsmen scored 6202 runs from his 205 outings in ODI cricket. His strike rate in the format was 88.80 and having an average of 37.13. Morgan had some crucial role in increasing the run rate of England team in the middle order.
