Two of the most respected cricketing heroes, Rohit Sharma and ABD are the two icons of the modern cricket. Both are main pillars of their respective teams. De Villiers made his debut in the year 2004 against England as a test cricketer. Later he got to a chance to play his first ODI in the year 2005 in the same series. He was known for his aggressive batting style and regarded one of the greatest cricketers of the decade. Although he had a wicket keeping duties in his initial career, Boucher, de Kock's presence limited him to the T20I zone. From 79 matches. he scored a brilliant 1852 runs. His consistency in each batting position was his speciality.
Rohit Sharma created lot of notable records in ODIs. His 264 runs against Sri Lanka is the highest in the format. Sharma has scored 3 double centuries in his career became the first to do so. He is the leading six hitter in the T20I for India. In his 264 run achievement, he secured some other records like most runs from boundaries in an innings. His 33 fours against Sri Lanka is the highest number of fours in an innings in ODIs.
De Villiers is the leading run scorer in World Cups for South Africa. He is the only player to have an average above 50 in ODIs Tests and First Class cricket. He played 78 tests without a duck, and it is a record in the format. His 149 runs against West Indies created one more record in ODIs. He blasted 16 sixes in the match which is highest in an innings. The part time wicket keeper dismissed 11 players in his innings against Pakistan which equals the record in the tests. He is having the fastest 50, 100 and 150 in ODIs.
4. Personal Life
ABD is known for his down to earth behavior. He was born on 17th February 1984 at Bela-Bela South Africa to Millie de Villiers and Abraham B de Villiers. He has two brothers. His passion was sports and interested in many games including cricket. He was married to Dannielle and have a baby boy named Abraham de Villiers. He is a Manchester United fan.
Rohit Sharma born on 30 April 1987 at Nagpur. His passion towards the cricket made him to play some domestic matches and later got call to Ireland series in 2007. He married to his manager Ritika Sajdeh in the year 2015.
ABD is known for aggressive batting style in the field. But we have seen him in occasions like talking to the ball boy at the boundary line which shows his down to earth behavior. He is such a calm person while talking to others. In the 2015 world cup we have seen him crying after his team lost in the semifinals against New Zealand. He was seen hugging his die hard fans which is very rare by sports men(We have seen this kind of attitude in Christianio Ronaldo).
Rohit Sharma is also a similar personality to de Villiers. He is a calm person both on field and off the field.One more common thing between the two is that Rohit is also a Manchester United fan. We have seen him dedicating his double century to his wife.
6. Indian Premiere League
Both players were exceptional in the Indian Premiere League. Rohit Sharma was initially hired by Deccan Chargers in the inaugural season and won emerging player of the year award in 2009. Later he was acquired by Mumbai Indians and promoted as captain. Under his captaincy, Mumbai won 3 titles in the year 2013,15 and 17. In his 171 IPL matches he scored 4474 runs. There is an unknown bowler in him. He took 15 wickets for the team when he was part of the Deccan Chargers.
de Villiers was acquired by Delhi Daredevils in the initial IPl season. He was strength of the middle order for the side. Later with the acquirement of Royal Challengers Bangalore, he became a most important player of the side. He was never sent to auction after the acquirement.
